Leave it. I will do it tomorrow. This seems very long and tough work, it’s better to do it tomorrow. I am feeling exhausted, I can’t do it right now.
Have you done this? Have you given excuses for not doing your work? Have you heard these from your colleagues and people around you? Of course, Yes.
Procrastination. The major cause of failures. In fact, the only cause of the failure is procrastination.
No matter how much you are enthusiastic and positive, you’ll procrastinate. You will do the same.
The only reason behind failures is procrastination. We don’t stick to our schedule. We don’t want to do the work even we are free. Just procrastination.
The reason behind procrastination is not being serious about our goal.
We want success but we aren’t willing to pay the price. We have to pay the price for precious things. There is nothing like something for nothing. Everything has its price.
The another reason behind procrastination is doing what we don’t love. Doing what you don’t love always results in procrastination. It leads to procrastination. Let me explain.
I’m in love with Mathematics. I can do anytime, anywhere and with anybody. No body can make me distract from it. The opposite to it is Hindi. I don’t even like it. I can’t do it if I am not in mood.
That is what it is.
If you are serious about success, you must not procrastinate. You have just right now.
How can you pretend that you have tomorrow? How can you say that ‘I will do it tomorrow’? How can you pretend that you will be alive tomorrow? No one can predict it and you too can’t.
Behind every achievements, there is hard work. I have read in Cristian Mihai‘s Art of Blogging e-book – Success is simply the side effect of discipline and hard work. Very true.
Work hard. One of the biggest qualities of successful people is hard work. They aren’t going to take risk of procrastinate their work. That’s it. You shouldn’t too.
There is nothing like tomorrow, only today. You cannot pretend what is going to happen with you the very next moment.
You may be going to die. You may be going to suffer. You may be going to get hurt. You may be going to lost someone. You may be going to get your goals accomplished.
Thus, don’t wait for a miracle to be happened, be the miracle in your own.
You have just now. Forget about yesterday, don’t worry about tomorrow, just work today. Give your best.
1. Give yourself a deadline.
The way to avoid procrastination is to set a deadline. Yes. When you have a deadline, at the end, you’ll be furious to get it done.
Set a deadline.
2. Plan your Day.
The another habit you can develop is to have schedule. Have a schedule, planning. Yes, it is true that planning always results in frustration but still plan.
Plan your day. Write it down on paper or make e-notes. It is helpful to stick to plan. Set reminders. It will again and again remind you that you have to finish your tasks.
3. Refresh yourself.
The next habit to be developed is to take refreshments. Refresh your memory. You may refresh your phone several times a day because of lagging.
Similarly, your memory will lag if you don’t refresh it at some intervals.
Have you heard of Pomodoro Technique? It is recommended to be focused on your work. In Italian language, ‘Pomodoro‘ means ‘tomato‘. Here how this works-
- You set timer of 25 minutes.
- You work until time limit.
- After time limit ended, you take 5 minutes break.
- All that is one Pomodoro.
You repeat the process 4 times. And after that, you increase time limit to 30 minutes and also, break of 15-20 minutes.
You can use it to be focused on your goal or work.
Never procrastinate. Do your work right now. You have only now. You can’t even pretend your next moment then how can you say that you have tomorrow.
No tomorrow, only Today. Do it right now. The best advice I can give you is to do what you love. That’s it.
Now, are you still going to procrastinate?
